Quick recap

A nameless creature breaks out of an underground prison and starts tearing through everything in its path for no clear reason. The Justice League tries to stop it and gets crushed. The press names it Doomsday. The monster heads for Metropolis, and Superman takes the fight on alone, block by block, as Lois, Jimmy and the city look on. No punch seems to be enough, and the fight keeps escalating. In the final issue, told in full-page splashes, the two trade their last blows in front of the Daily Planet. Doomsday falls, but so does Superman: he dies in Lois's arms, and the world loses its greatest hero.
