Nick Wilde is a con artist fox who ends up as Zootopia's first fox cop. Jason Bateman voices him. Sarcastic on the outside, he hides a childhood marked by prejudice.
Nick hustles Judy on her first day and tells her she will never be a real cop. Later he is forced to help her with the missing-animals case. He tells her he was bullied as a child for being a fox. In the end he joins the ZPD and becomes Judy's partner.
A week after becoming partners, Nick argues with Judy about how to work. The two become fugitives. He is arrested, breaks out of jail and accidentally frees prisoners. He fights Pawbert for the antivenom and, at the end, gives Judy the repaired carrot pen.
Jason Bateman was the first actor reported, in 2013 (The Hollywood Reporter). Nick was nearly the lead until November 2014. The directors told him to just use his normal voice.
