Quick recap

American Howard Hallenbeck takes his family to rural Ireland to research religious artifacts. Near a church, a farmer loosens an obelisk in a storm, and lightning knocks it over. It had been holding Rawhead Rex, a pagan monster. Free again, he kills everyone in his path, including Howard's son. The verger, Declan, touches the altar, is driven mad by visions and becomes the monster's servant. The police get wiped out. Reverend Coot tells Howard that Rawhead fears something in the altar. The weapon from the stained glass fails in Howard's hands but works for his wife: a female figure rises from the stone and brings the creature down. In the last scene, Rawhead bursts out of the ground again and roars.
