Film student Stephen Grace, who won't drive out of guilt over his brother's death, joins a project run by Quaid, a classmate obsessed with fear: film people describing what scares them most. Their friend Cheryl edits. The interviewees include Abby, whose birthmark covers half her body, and Joshua, who's afraid of going deaf again. Quaid grows more unstable, and Stephen and Cheryl cut him off. He then blasts Abby's tape across campus, deafens Joshua with a gunshot and locks Cheryl in a room until she eats rotten meat. Stephen comes for him with an axe, and it ends with Stephen dead and Cheryl locked in with his body.
