Quick recap

Private Zula Hendricks, a wounded Colonial Marine sidelined from combat, is aboard a Weyland-Yutani ship with a team of synthetics when they find a derelict hauler infested with xenomorphs. The company's mission is to bring back specimens, but one of the synthetics decides to disobey and convinces Zula to do the opposite: destroy the aliens before they reach human hands. The two become fugitives from the corporation and set off across the stars after every trace of the creatures. Along the way, Zula confronts her past and her doubts about her own strength and loyalty. The volume ends with the pair still on the run, determined to see the mission through.
