Quick recap

North Carolina, 2015. A cousin of Cross's is accused of a terrible crime, and Cross goes back to his hometown for the first time in over 30 years to clear him. The town seems rotten with corruption, and he uncovers a family secret that makes him question what he knew about his own life. Meanwhile, chasing someone he thought was dead, he gets pulled into a string of brutal socialite murders the local police can't crack. The hunt turns into a search for the truth about his past. The ending wasn't checked against a reliable source, so it stays out.
