Quick recap

Washington, D.C., 2023. The partnership has always worked: Cross bends the rules, Sampson enforces them. Now military-style attacks leave Cross badly hurt, and Sampson is the only one who can protect him and go after justice. For the first time, he's on his own. The attacks look random, and the people around him warn: trust no one. As a hostile force closes in on the capital, Sampson has to protect the Cross family, his own little daughter and even the president. The ending wasn't checked against a reliable source, so it stays out.
