Washington, D.C., 2023. The Dead Hours Killer, a serial murderer with a ruthless goal, has been going after pilots. Now he widens his reach. Cross is called to Reagan National after a passenger jet explodes on the runway. It wasn't a malfunction: the plane was shot down with a stolen Vietnam War-era machine gun, a weapon few people can handle. Time to the next strike is running out, and the final target is Cross himself. The ending wasn't checked against a reliable source, so it stays out.
