After We Collided

Crushed by the bet, Tessa ends things with Hardin and throws herself into her internship at Vance Publishing. At a convention in Seattle, she drinks too much and calls him, he goes after her, and they fight and make up over and over. Hardin's mother, Trish, arrives from London without knowing about the breakup, and Tessa agrees to pretend they're still together. She learns her father came looking for her and that her mother kept it from her. At a dinner, Hardin gets drunk and punches his own father, Ken. Tessa grows close to Zed and even kisses him, but tells Hardin, who beats Zed up and gets arrested. Zed doesn't press charges. Back together, Tessa and Hardin are out walking when she recognizes her father in a homeless man.

1. ChangeHardin doesn't get arrested

   In the book, Tessa gets close to Zed, and Hardin hurts him so badly he's arrested. The movie leaves out the fight and the arrest.

   In the book, Tessa kisses a stranger at a Seattle bar, and Hardin hits back by claiming he slept with Molly. In the movie, the fight starts when he finds Trevor shirtless in her room after a wine spill.
