Quick recap

The film opens on invasion day in Millbrook, then returns to the present. With no home and no father, Evelyn leads Regan, Marcus and the baby in search of other survivors. They run into Emmett, an old acquaintance who has shut himself off from the world. Regan learns that a high-pitched sound hurts the creatures and decides to take it to anyone who can listen. Now she is the lead, and the world outside is bigger and crueler.
