Quick recap

In Oxford, physicist Vera Ye kills herself, and scientists around the world die the same way. The Oxford Five, her former students, get involved: Auggie sees a countdown, and Jin enters a game that simulates a world with three suns. In flashbacks, a young Ye Wenjie, Vera's mother, sends the message from Red Coast base that the San-Ti answer. Da Shi and Thomas Wade use Auggie's nanofibers to slice the ship Judgment Day apart in the Panama Canal. The San-Ti arrive in 400 years and stall science with sophons. Jin creates the Staircase project: Will, dying of cancer, sends his brain toward the fleet, but the probe veers off course. Saul becomes a Wallfacer.
