When Irina sees the girl, she reports her to the Volturi as an immortal child, a serious crime among vampires. What changed in the movie
ChangeOne book, two movies
Summit confirmed in June 2010 that Breaking Dawn would be split into two movies. Stephenie Meyer herself had suggested it because the book is so long.
The birth, described in detail in the book, is shown in the movie the way Bella sees it, through pain and haze. That's how the film kept its PG-13 rating.
In the book, Renesmee grows too fast and is aware from birth. In the movie, Mackenzie Foy's face was digitally placed on other actresses at each stage, and the baby became a visual effect.
In the book, the final standoff with the Volturi is settled with words, not a fight. Part 2 shows a huge battle that turns out to be one of Alice's visions.
No spoilersThe easter eggs give away parts of the title. They open once you mark it as seen.
