Quick recap

Much of the book runs alongside the end of Winter's Heart. Perrin keeps trying to rescue Faile and even tortures prisoners for leads. He also gets an offer to ally with the Seanchan against the Shaido. Mat tries to get out of Seanchan territory while courting Tuon and learns she's a sul'dam who could learn to channel. Elayne fights for the Lion Throne and is expecting twins, the father kept secret. Rand sends Bashere, Logain and Loial to negotiate a truce with the Seanchan. Egwene leads the siege of Tar Valon, blocks the city's harbor and is kidnapped by White Tower agents. In the end, the Seanchan accept the truce but demand a meeting with the Dragon.
