The Last Battle begins, and the armies of the Light and the Shadow clash on several fronts. Lan kills the Forsaken Demandred in a duel. Egwene gives her life to destroy M'Hael, once Taim, creating a weave that counters balefire. Olver blows the Horn of Valere, and the heroes help turn the battle. Mat kills Padan Fain, and Perrin kills Slayer and Lanfear. At Shayol Ghul, Rand, Moiraine and Nynaeve weave together, and Rand seizes the Dark One and rebuilds his prison without a flaw. The Blight fades, and Cadsuane becomes Amyrlin. Rand had swapped bodies with Moridin: he survives, can no longer channel and walks away unrecognized.
