Quick recap

During the events of The Incredibles, babysitter Kari McKeen looks after baby Jack-Jack on a night his parents are out on a mission. Little by little she finds out the boy vanishes, floats, walks through walls, bursts into flames and changes shape. She tries to keep calm, but exhaustion builds and she nearly loses it. The next day a stranger in a cape knocks on the door. The short is told in flashback, as agent Rick Dicker questions Kari and erases her memory to protect the family's secret.

Hidden details

  1. Behind the scenesIt was a scene cut from the first film

The idea came from a scene Brad Bird had considered for the feature and cut. He expanded it into the short, which shows what babysitter Kari went through during the events of The Incredibles. It came on the film's DVD in 2005.

  2. CameoSyndrome shows up as the new sitter

Jason Lee returns as Syndrome, who turns up at the door and a frazzled Kari takes him for her replacement. He says the S on his suit stands for "Sitter", since BS would not look serious. Bud Luckey also returns as agent Dicker.
