Quick recap

More than ten years later, Millie is a social worker, married to Enzo, and mom to Ada and Nico. The family buys a house on a Long Island cul-de-sac. The neighbors, Suzette and Jonathan Lowell, are strange, and Enzo spends too much time with Suzette and is hiding things. When Jonathan turns up dead, the clues point to Enzo, who confesses. He was lying to protect Ada, who stabbed Jonathan with her dad's pocketknife to escape a hidden room where the neighbor held children. Millie pressures Suzette into confessing. The epilogue reveals who struck the final blow: Martha, the Lowells' housekeeper, who was also running from a violent husband.
