Quick recap

Thomas, Eleanor and Father Hobbe travel to Durham to ask an old monk what Thomas's father knew about the Grail. Thomas fights the Scottish invasion and befriends the Scot Robbie Douglas, his prisoner. But the Dominican inquisitor Bernard de Taillebourg and Guy Vexille get there first: Hobbe, the monk and Eleanor are killed. Back in Brittany, Thomas reunites with Jeanette, is betrayed, captured and tortured by the Dominicans, who want his father's book. When Charles of Blois besieges La Roche-Derrien, the English garrison sallies out and wins. Thomas and Robbie kill Taillebourg. Skeat is murdered by Sir Geoffrey Carr, who in turn is killed by Thomas, Robbie and Jeanette. Thomas resolves to keep hunting the Grail.
