Quick recap
The series' 18th novel picks up where Battle Ground left off. Twelve Months is set in the year after the Battle of Chicago. Harry tries to recover and grieve a close friend while looking after refugees, managing political alliances and facing new threats. From what the publisher and reviewers have shared, the tone is more intimate than the previous book, following a full year of rebuilding, both the city and himself. Publishers Weekly warned it's not a good starting point for newcomers.
