Quick recap

Harry Dresden is Chicago's only professional wizard. Monica Sells hires him to find her husband, Victor, who has turned paranoid and obsessed with the occult. Meanwhile, Lt. Karrin Murphy calls him to two bodies whose hearts were burst by magic: a bodyguard for crime boss Johnny Marcone and an escort. The White Council suspects Harry, and Warden Morgan wants a reason to execute him. The clues lead to a new drug, Three Eye, and to Victor, a self-taught sorcerer. In the showdown at his country house, Victor loses control of the demons he summons and dies in the fire. Morgan saves Harry and drops the charge.
