Quick recap

Chicago's ghosts are restless. Harry and Michael Carpenter, a Knight of the Cross, hunt spirits while an entity called the Nightmare drains Harry's magic and attacks his friends, leaving Murphy in a coma. Harry agrees to represent the Council at a party thrown by Bianca of the Red Court. There, Susan trades a year of her memories of Harry for a cure and is thrown to the vampires; furious, Harry unleashes a fire spell that kills many of them. The Nightmare is the ghost of the sorcerer Kravos, controlled by the vampire Mavra. Harry defeats Kravos and rescues Susan, already half-turned. The attack starts a war between the Council and the Red Court, and Susan leaves Chicago.
