Quick recap

Castrima's people abandon the geode and set out. Essun, out of her coma, knows she has little time to return the Moon to its orbit and end the Seasons. Nassun, shattered by having killed her father, decides to use the Gate to destroy the world and sets off with Schaffa through the Earth's core. In flashbacks, the narrator tells how the ancient city of Syl Anagist built the Gate by exploiting an enslaved people, and how the revolt against it flung the Moon away. In the end, Nassun tries to turn everyone into stone eaters. Essun arrives, the two fight for control and Essun lets go, turning to stone. Nassun returns the Moon to orbit. The Seasons end, and Essun is reborn as a stone eater beside Hoa.

  4. ReferenceStill not on screen

TNT announced a series in 2017, with Daveed Diggs producing, but it never happened. In 2021, TriStar bought the trilogy for film in a seven-figure deal, with Jemisin writing the scripts herself. Nothing has been released yet.
