Quick recap

Los Angeles, 1995. Sarah is locked up at Pescadero State Hospital because no one believes her about Judgment Day, set for August 29, 1997. Ten-year-old John lives with foster parents. Two machines arrive from the future: the liquid-metal T-1000, sent to kill John, and a reprogrammed T-800 sent to protect him. John orders the cyborg to break his mother out and forbids it to kill. Sarah learns that Cyberdyne engineer Miles Dyson will build Skynet from the first Terminator's chip. She goes to kill him but can't. Dyson helps destroy the lab and dies doing it. At a steel mill, the T-1000 falls into molten steel. The T-800 asks to be destroyed too and sinks into the steel with a thumbs-up. Sarah and John drive on, the future still open.
