Quick recap

Abel, Athena's older brother and god of the sun's corona, comes down to Earth and announces he will wipe out humanity, as corrupt as it was in ancient times. He dismisses the Bronze Saints and assigns three Corona Saints to guard Athena. He also revives five Gold Saints who died at the Sanctuary, among them Saga, Camus and Shura. When Saori refuses to back the plan, Abel strikes her down and sends her soul to Elysion, from which no one returns. Seiya, Shiryu, Hyoga and Shun rush to the Sanctuary, and Ikki shows up to help. After hard fights against the Corona Saints, they defeat Abel and bring Athena back. Non-canon.
