Quick recap

In the far future, Professor Giles MacFarlane is excavating Castle Redmont and finds a chest of stories in Will's old cabin. The tales fill gaps in the series: Halt rescuing the widow and child of a soldier named Daniel right after the Battle of Hackham Heath; Gilan facing the outlaw Foldar while Halt was in Skandia; Halt and Will against river pirates and shipwreckers; Will and Alyss tracking Ebony, taken by Roamers; assassins trying to ruin Horace and Cassandra's wedding; the day Halt and Crowley met; and Tug hurt by wolves. The last story is Will and Alyss's wedding. At the bottom of the chest, a fragment recalls the legend of a Skandian boy.
