One Piece · G-8 Arc

Filler arc. Coming down from the sky, the Merry lands right inside the lake of G-8, a Marine base ringed by cliffs. The crew splits up in disguise: Luffy and Sanji pose as cooks, Nami cleans, Usopp wears a uniform, Robin gathers intel and Chopper helps in the infirmary. Base chief Jonathan, calm and sharp, predicts every move and sets ambushes. The crew gets the ship and the gold back, but at nine at night the lake turns shallow and the Merry runs aground. Using Skypiea's dials and a friendly octopus, the ship leaps over the walls. Jonathan lets the pirates go, satisfied.
