Flashback filler arc. After Rin's death, Minato, now the Fourth Hokage, puts Kakashi in the ANBU. Kakashi crosses paths with Kinoe, a Hashirama cell test subject sent by Danzō to take his Sharingan; after Kakashi saves him, the boy switches sides and joins his squad under the name Tenzō. Orochimaru flees the village, young Itachi joins the ANBU and the Uchiha clan massacre takes place. In the end, Kakashi leaves the ANBU, becomes an instructor and takes on Team 7: Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura.
