Boruto, the Seventh Hokage's son, starts at the Ninja Academy causing trouble from day one and befriends Denki. Soon, students start getting possessed by a dark aura, and Boruto, who can see things others can't, investigates. Mitsuki, a mysterious boy, transfers into the class. The culprit is Sumire, the class rep, who resents the village because of her family and controls a creature called Nue. In the end, Boruto beats Nue, Mitsuki faces Sumire, she surrenders and ends up back in class.

1. SetupThe scene that opens ep. 1

   The first episode opens on an older Boruto in a ruined Leaf Village, facing a young man named Kawaki. The scene comes from chapter 1 of the manga and goes unexplained for a long time.
