Quick recap

London, 1900. Digory and his neighbor Polly stumble into the attic of Uncle Andrew, a second-rate magician, who sends them out of the world with magic rings. In the Wood between the Worlds, each pool leads somewhere. In Charn, a dead world, Digory rings a bell and wakes Queen Jadis, who follows them to London. In the chaos, they all fall into a dark, empty world and watch Aslan sing Narnia into being, talking beasts and all. A piece of lamppost Jadis threw grows into the lamppost in the woods. Aslan sends Digory for a magic apple, which he refuses to use for himself. In return, he gets one that heals his sick mother. From the wood of the tree grown from its core, he will later have a wardrobe made.
