Quick recap

Nina has crossed the portal, and Zyrk may be on the brink of collapse. The arrival of a hybrid threatens the fragile balance between the four clans, and forces that have waited for millennia could awaken. She wakes between life and death and is taken to Thron, a dark city. At her side is Richard, a turquoise-eyed rescuer she can't fully trust: he fights his own cruel nature while his enemies multiply. The two travel across Zyrk, the violent world that belongs to Death. Nina has to find out who she is, face her fears and decide whether to run to survive or stand her ground. Along the way, she learns that Death has many faces and that the heart can be more dangerous than any legend or curse.
