Full story
Jessica Jones and Trish Walker haven't spoken since Alisa's death. Trish now has powers and has become a masked vigilante who patrols the city in secret. Jessica is still running Alias Investigations and trying to move on, until a hooded man attacks her and cuts her with a blade. The two end up working together again to find out who it was.
Along the way they meet Erik Gelden, a guy who gets headaches around bad people and uses that to blackmail criminals. He becomes Jessica's ally and love interest. The trail leads to Gregory Sallinger, a cold genius who kills people he considers weak and turns them into pieces of his obsession. Sallinger wants to prove Jessica is a fraud as a hero. Their game is a battle of wits: Jessica knows who he is but can't prove it.
Jeri Hogarth, her ALS getting worse, tries to win back her ex-girlfriend Kith and manipulates her life until the marriage falls apart. Malcolm works for Jeri and grows tired of her methods. Sallinger kills Dorothy Walker, Trish's mother. After that, Trish stops being a hero. She starts killing criminals who slipped past the law, sure she's on the right side.
Jessica finally gets a confession out of Sallinger, but Trish kills him on the way to court. Now Jessica has to hunt her own sister. Erik notices his pain disappears when Trish kills, which makes everything murkier. Jeri helps Jessica set a trap. Trish is beaten after trying to stab Jessica and is sent to the Raft, the maximum-security prison. Jeri ends up alone, rich and sick, after Kith breaks things off.
Before the end, Luke Cage shows up to talk with Jessica about hard choices. Jessica hands Alias Investigations to Malcolm and goes to the bus station to leave town. There she hears Kilgrave's voice telling her to run. She changes her mind, turns around and stays in New York. It was the end of the series.
