Full story

Elektra Natchios died. The one who brought her back was Stick, a blind martial arts master who teaches Kimagure, a discipline that can see the future and even raise the dead. She trains with him but can't let go of the rage and fear tied to her mother's death, which she witnessed as a child. Stick throws her out. Elektra becomes a contract killer, one of the most expensive and precise in the business.

Years later, she takes an odd job: she has to wait a few days in a rented house on an island before learning who her targets are. There she meets her neighbors, Mark Miller and his teenage daughter, Abby, a sharp and cheeky kid. Abby sneaks into Elektra's house, the two bond and Elektra even spends Christmas with them. When the target names finally arrive, they're Mark and Abby. Elektra walks away from the job.

The contract came from the Hand, an organization of criminal ninjas. Its leader, Kirigi, sends his powered assassins: Stone, with rock-hard skin; Tattoo, who releases the animals inked on his body; Kinkou; and Typhoid, whose breath rots everything it touches. Elektra flees with father and daughter and learns that Abby is the Treasure, a martial arts prodigy the Hand wants for itself. She also learns that Stick knew all along and set up the meeting to test whether she was capable of compassion.

Stick's allies protect Mark and Abby for a while, but the Hand finds them. Elektra agrees to a duel with Kirigi at the house where she grew up. In the garden maze, among white sheets hanging on lines, it hits her: she remembers that Kirigi is the one who killed her mother. She loses the first fight and Abby saves her. Then Elektra faces Kirigi again.

Elektra kills Kirigi, but Typhoid gets to Abby, who dies. Elektra kills Typhoid. Finally free of her rage, she uses Kimagure and brings Abby back to life, just as Stick did for her. Father and daughter are safe. Stick shows up to tell her she passed the test, but Elektra chooses her own path. She says goodbye to Abby, hoping the girl won't repeat her story, and leaves.
