Quick recap

S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Nick Fury builds a government-funded super-human team: Iron Man, Thor, Giant-Man, the Wasp and Bruce Banner, who is studying the serum that made Captain America. Steve Rogers is found frozen in ice and wakes up in a century he doesn't understand. The team deals with egos and celebrity, Banner loses control and the Hulk tears up part of Manhattan, and Hank and Janet's marriage falls apart. Meanwhile, Fury learns the Chitauri, shape-shifting aliens, have been infiltrating Earth for decades. The volume ends with the Ultimates facing the invasion and coming out as public heroes.
