Quick recap

Millionaire Paul Renauld writes to Poirot begging for help in France. By the time Poirot and Hastings arrive, he's dead, stabbed and dumped in an open grave beside a golf course. Giraud of the French police treats Poirot like a has-been, and the two race to solve it. Poirot learns Renauld had another name and an old crime in his past, and was planning to fake his own death. Someone used the plan to kill him for real: Marthe Daubreuil, the neighbor who wanted to marry his son for the money. Meanwhile Hastings falls for a young performer, Dulcie, and ends the book ready to start a new life with her in Argentina.
