Quick recap

Everyone in Millville picks on Gary Lutz, and he wants a vacation from himself. He signs up with Person-to-Person Vacations to swap bodies with another boy, Dirk Davis, for a week. It goes wrong: Gary's mind lands in a bee, and Dirk takes his body. Dirk likes Gary's family and friends and refuses to switch back. Gary gathers a swarm and confronts Dirk at home, but Dirk won't budge. In a rage, Gary stings him. Bees die after stinging, and everything goes dark. He wakes in his own body with his family safe. A month later he's braver, friends with Dirk, and sipping nectar from a flower.

The cover scene never happens; Gary only swaps minds with a bee. The art seems to nod to the movie Return of the Fly.
