Quick recap

Fed up with Cobra Commander's failures, Doctor Mindbender uses the DNA of history's conquerors to create Serpentor in the Arise, Serpentor, Arise! miniseries. Serpentor becomes Cobra's emperor and leads an attack on Washington that fails. A demoted Cobra Commander spends the season scheming to get his power back. On the Joe side, General Hawk returns to command with Duke as his second, and wrestler Sgt. Slaughter joins the team. It's 30 episodes, mostly standalone. The season ends with Into Your Tent I Will Silently Creep, where Cobra Commander founds the Coil, a group meant for a third season that was never made.
