The third film, mixing 22nd Tournament characters into its own story. In the empire of Mifan, the young emperor Chiaotzu searches for his beloved Ran Ran. Goku and Krillin train with Master Roshi for a local tournament whose prize is a wish granted by the emperor. Behind the scenes, Minister Shen and the assassin Mercenary Tao use Pilaf to build a radar and gather the balls, promising to find Ran Ran, while plotting to kill Chiaotzu with Tien's help. Tao murders Bora during the tournament. Tien chooses his friendship with Chiaotzu and defeats his own master; Ran Ran was a porcelain doll. Goku, with Arale's help, beats Tao, and Upa uses Shenron to revive his father.
