Quick recap

The final book answers what was left open: the fates of Maria Hanson, Axel Branford and Livith. It reveals the Continente Nascente, with its peoples and dangers, and who the Virgin of Trigger is, destined to bear the next Merlin. Oscar Zoroaster, the Wizard of Oz, a ghostly sorcerer who bargains with demons and turned villain after losing Dorothy, nearly destroys Nova Ether in a new world war. The true Pendragon rises. In the end, good wins and peace returns. The epilogue, though, hints that dark witches and fallen fairies escaped the Battle of Pendragon and could come back, and King Anísio Branford vows not to repeat his father's mistakes.
