Quick recap

John McClane flies to Moscow after learning that his son, Jack, whom he's barely seen in years, is in prison. As he reaches the courthouse, there's an explosion and a breakout. Jack, whom John takes for a criminal, is in the middle of a CIA mission, protecting a Russian whistleblower, Komarov. Father and son go from a car chase across Moscow to a safe house and then to the abandoned city of Pripyat, where a conspiracy involving nuclear material comes to a head. Between gunfire and arguments, the two try to figure each other out.
