Wrath

Wrath lives for the war. He wants nothing to do with thrones, courts or heirs: he wants to hunt lessers, the soulless humans who serve the Omega and who killed his parents. When the Lessening Society strikes at the Brotherhood, Darius, one of the most loyal Brothers, asks something Wrath considers impossible. Darius has a half-human daughter, Beth, who knows nothing about where she comes from and is close to a dangerous change. He wants the king to look after her. Wrath resists, but the war decides for him, and the request becomes a duty.

His first meeting with Beth creates an instant bond. Wrath tells her what her father really was and, little by little, lets his guard down. His past with Marissa, the aristocrat he had an old tie to, comes out. Over a dinner the two grow close for good, and Wrath opens up like he never has with anyone. When Beth's transition begins, cop Butch O'Neal brings her to him, and Wrath is the one who gets her through it. For the first time in ages, the king has something to lose off the battlefield. He even seeks guidance from the Scribe Virgin.

As Wrath grows closer to Beth, his enemies make their moves. The lesser Mr. X recruits young Billy Riddle, and Havers, Marissa's brother, plots revenge. In the final episode, Wrath learns of a plan to kill him, and Mr. X kidnaps Beth. The king who never wanted to lead anyone rallies the Brotherhood and Butch to bring her back, and the battle begins at nightfall.

In the books, Wrath leads Dark Lover and returns to center stage in The King, book 12.
