Tigress

Tigress was left at the Bao Gu Orphanage. The other kids were scared of her because she couldn't control her strength. Shifu came to teach her discipline. Months later, she showed what she'd learned by setting up dominoes with total precision until they formed the yin-yang symbol.

Ten years before the first movie, young Tigress trains under Shifu and never pleases him. With the master sick, she has to defend the Valley of Peace from the warrior Boar. A mixed-up list has her recruit Crane, Monkey, Viper and Mantis. She loses copying Shifu's style and wins when she fights her own way, with the four beside her.

Tigress expected to be named Dragon Warrior. When Oogway points at Po, she doesn't hide her contempt. When Tai Lung escapes, she sets off alone to face him, the other four follow, and the group is beaten. Only after watching Po defeat the villain does she bow to him and call him master.

On the mission against Lord Shen, Tigress is now Po's closest ally. She notices before anyone that something is bothering him and pushes him to talk. She gives him the famously stiff, awkward hug that becomes a running joke. In the final battle in Gongmen, she fights at his side.

When Kai storms the Jade Palace and turns the masters into jade warriors, Tigress is the only one who escapes. She heads to the panda village to warn Po and helps get the pandas ready for battle.

Angelina Jolie voices Tigress in the first three movies and Kung Fu Panda Holiday. In Secrets of the Scroll and Legends of Awesomeness, she's voiced by Kari Wahlgren. In Kung Fu Panda 4, the Five only show up in the credits.
