Shorty Meeks

Shorty is Brenda's brother and spends the day spaced out. At the party where the killer strikes, he's in the basement with his friends, and the killer joins them. Everyone dies except him. When he comes up to warn about a killer, Cindy's boyfriend shoots him by mistake. He's also the brother of Brenda, the friend who talks too much at the movies. He's at Cindy's house the night the killer shows up, tucked away in the basement with his friends, unaware of what's going on upstairs.

In Hell House, Shorty has odd encounters: a giant plant rolls him up and smokes him, and he just enjoys it. Later the possessed caretaker carries him off. Cindy, Brenda and Theo rescue him. Two months later he's the one who runs over the caretaker with a car, in the film's final scene. In the second film he's the same as ever: part of Cindy's crew at college and, as usual, spends the movie half in a daze. The film's last scene is his.

In the sixth film, Shorty is older but still the same. He hosts a livestream in which a guest is killed. He and Ray are behind the final twist: they hold a grudge because Cindy and Brenda made the third and fourth films without them. Cindy points out the original four are together again, and the killing stops. Together they face the new characters and keep the franchise. In the sixth film he joins the younger group after the first scare. In one scene he gets so out of it that Ghostface drags him into an animated sequence in the style of K-Pop Demon Hunters. Marlon Wayans, who plays Shorty, wrote the film with his brothers.

Marlon Wayans wrote the sixth film with his brothers and returned as Shorty. His brother Shawn plays Ray. In 2024 he said the family's exit from the series came from creative conflicts with the producers.
