Sam was Deena's girlfriend and now lives in Sunnyvale, the rich, safe town, keeping the relationship hidden. After a crash, Shadyside's killers begin to hunt her. Olivia Scott Welch plays the character in the Netflix trilogy.
Sam left Shadyside for Sunnyvale and, at her new school, keeps her relationship with Deena secret and has a boyfriend, Peter. She meets Deena again at a vigil for the mall victims, where a brawl between the two schools ends in a crash.
In the crash, Sam bleeds on Sarah Fier's bones and sees a vision of the witch. That wakes the killers, who want only her. The group makes a plan: drown her for a moment and bring her back. Deena revives her, and Sam and Deena come out as a couple.
After the night, Sam is possessed by the witch. Deena and Josh restrain her while they search for a way to end the curse, and she is out of the picture for most of the second film.
In the third film Sam attacks Deena in the mall tunnels, but Deena manages to call her back for a moment. After the curse ends, the two have a picnic at Sarah Fier's grave, whom they name the first Shadysider.
Sam Fraser is a character of the Netflix trilogy. The setting, Shadyside, comes from R. L. Stine's books, which began in 1989.
