Lissa Dragomir

On the show, Lissa survives the crash that kills her parents and leaves her brother Andre, the queen's pick to succeed her, missing. Without knowing how, Lissa brings Rose back to life, and the two end up bonded. Now the last Dragomir, she's worth more and in more danger than ever. At a party, Queen Marina announces she wants Lissa as her successor. Her guardian is Victor Dashkov, a member of the royal council.

In a Strigoi attack at St. Jude's, two of Lissa's second cousins are killed, and she loses the quorum she needed for a council vote. Christian Ozera, whose parents turned Strigoi, tells her about a fifth element, spirit. Then he breaks up with her to protect her. Victor finds a loophole: Lissa gets her vote back if she marries a man with some Dragomir blood.

On the royal tour, Lissa goes to Lisbon to meet the owner of a St. Vladimir painting: Adrian Ivashkov. He shows her his collection, turns up in her dreams and confirms he's a spirit user too. Following his lead, Lissa seeks out a writer branded a heretic and learns that Vladimir passed spirit's darkness to Anna, the guardian bonded to him. Afraid of doing the same to Rose, she decides her friend won't be her guardian. They fight, then make up.

After the Trials, the queen names Lissa her heir but keeps the throne until Lissa is ready. Victor, who had been secretly healed with Sonya Karp's spirit magic, locks Lissa in a room to force her to heal him too. In the finale, Lissa is briefly reunited with Andre before he's turned Strigoi. She and Christian say I love you. Accused of Queen Marina's murder, Lissa flees with Rose into the human world.

In the film, Lucy Fry plays Lissa. Back at St. Vladimir's after a year on the run with Rose, she becomes the target of threats and is kidnapped by Victor Dashkov, who wants to use her spirit magic to cure the illness that's killing him. After the rescue, Lissa announces in public that her magic is spirit and credits Rose with helping her master it.

In Richelle Mead's books, Lissa's story is told through Rose's eyes, since Rose feels everything through the bond. Lucy Fry played her in the 2014 film; Daniela Nieves, in the 2022 series.
