Quick recap

Rhage carries a curse: a beast that breaks out when he loses control, kept quiet only by sex and fighting. Mary Luce, a human who already beat leukemia once, stumbles into the vampire world as an interpreter for young John Matthew. Rhage falls for her on the spot, and the beast reacts to her too. When Mary's illness returns, Rhage goes to the Scribe Virgin and accepts a steep price to save her. In the end, Mary is cured and they stay together. Meanwhile Bella, an aristocrat and Mary's friend, is abducted by lessers, and the book closes with her in enemy hands.
