Quick recap

In Ego, a Joker henchman, terrified of what his boss might do, kills his family and himself in front of Batman. Shaken, Bruce returns to the Batcave and, feverish and exhausted, faces his own Batman side, which takes the shape of a creature with its own voice. They argue it all out: the night his parents died, the rage driving the hero, the line against killing, and whether to keep going. In the end, Bruce accepts he needs Batman as much as Batman needs him, and heads back out after the Joker. The book also collects other Darwyn Cooke stories, such as Selina's Big Score, a Catwoman heist against the Mob, and Batman's run-ins with Selina.
