Spoilers for this title

Quick recap

Doc turns up unannounced in 1985 and takes Marty and Jennifer to 2015 to keep Marty's son out of jail. There Marty buys an almanac of sports results from 1950 to 2000, and old Biff steals it and hands it to young Biff in 1955. When they return, Hill Valley has become a nightmare ruled by Biff, and Marty's father is dead. The two go back to 1955 to recover the almanac without bumping into the events of the first film. Marty burns it, but lightning sends the DeLorean, with Doc inside, to 1885.

Hidden details

  1. Behind the scenesCrispin Glover didn't return, so George is faked

Glover couldn't agree on his pay, and the role of George McFly went to Jeffrey Weissman, in prosthetics on the chin, nose and cheekbones. To hide it, he appears in sunglasses, in the background or hanging upside down. Footage of Glover from the first film was reused too.

  2. Behind the scenesThe Part III trailer plays at the end

Parts II and III were shot back to back. By the time the second film was ready, enough of the third had been shot, so a trailer was added at the end, before the credits, to tell audiences the story went on.

  3. ReferenceThe holographic Jaws 19 shark

The 3D shark promoting Jaws 19 in 2015 was one of ILM's first digital experiments. Effects supervisor Ken Ralston kept the result of the very first test, untouched, because he liked how messed up it looked.
