The Dreamed Adventure

The Dreamed Adventure (original title Das geträumte Abenteuer) is set in Svilengrad, a small Bulgarian town pressed up against the borders with Greece and Turkey. It is the kind of place that looks sleepy, out on the edge of Europe.

Veska works there as an archaeologist on a dig. One day she runs into Said, an old acquaintance. His car has just been stolen, and Veska offers to help. She takes him to her excavation site, and the two start picking up where they left off.

But Said comes from a shadier world, and Veska agrees to help him with an illegal job. The deeper she goes, the more she sees the criminal ties running under the town's daily routine. People from her own past start turning up too.

Valeska Grisebach, the director of Western, works again at a slow burn, close to a frontier western. Yana Radeva and Syuleyman Letifov play the central pair.
