Sirât opens in the middle of the noise. A huge rave is happening in the desert of southern Morocco, with walls of speakers and people dancing under the sun. Into the crowd walk Luis and his young son, Esteban. They are not there for the music. Mar, Luis's older daughter, went missing months ago, and the last lead points to these parties.
Luis hands her photo to anyone who passes by. Nobody knows anything, until a group of ravers mentions another party, even farther out, deep in the desert. Maybe Mar is there.
Then the soldiers show up. The party is shut down by force and the foreigners are ordered to leave. The group splits into two vans and heads south, toward the border with Mauritania. Luis decides to follow them with Esteban and their dog Pipa, in a small car that was never built for that road. On the radio, news comes in of a war that has broken out between two countries and keeps growing. The ravers try to talk father and son into turning back. Luis does not turn back.
