Summary

Between Earth and Sky is Rebecca Roanhorse's epic fantasy trilogy: Black Sun (2020), Fevered Star (2022) and Mirrored Heavens (2024). It's set on a continent inspired by the civilizations of the Americas before Europeans arrived, with cliff-top cities, clans tied to sacred animals and a priesthood that controls the calendar.

Black Sun opens as an eclipse approaches that will fall on the solstice. In the holy city of Tova, the Sun Priest tries to hold together a religious order full of intrigue. Far away, Serapio, a blind young man marked since childhood by a destiny tied to a crow god, sets sail for the city. The ship belongs to Xiala, a sea captain with a reputation for trouble and a mysterious gift in her voice.

These characters' paths will meet in Tova, and the prophecy around the eclipse threatens to turn the world upside down. The series follows gods, politics and clashing loyalties across all three books.
