Quick recap

Two cases pit Lupin against English detective Herlock Sholmes and his sidekick Wilson. In The Blonde Lady, a string of Paris thefts involves a mysterious blonde woman, and the police get nowhere. Sholmes crosses the Channel, trades clues with Lupin in restaurants, apartments and boats, and watches the thief slip away by a hair. In The Jewish Lamp, the fight is over a jewel hidden in an antique lamp. The rivals respect each other, trade jabs and play fair in their own way. Sholmes scores some wins, but Lupin always keeps one last card, and the rivalry ends in a draw with a rematch promised.

A 1910 German film serial adapted the book and called the detective Sherlock Holmes outright, thanks to German copyright rules.
